 Traveling through Iceland in Winter means less daylight, but it also means great colors in the sky. Although we hadn't seen any Aurora Borealis, the colors in the morning and evening skies were absolutely amazing.

  Yes, I confess, I love Winter with its gorgeous sundown colors, the silent poetic mood all around. Sure, with clean white snow it looks much better and we haven't had much snow during this winter, so I paint myself into a snow scene and dream about ancient times.

Since my first personal contact with Cornwall, this amazing region is always in my mind. I wish I could live there forever. I love everything there, the landscape, the very special people, the near to the sea and it inspires me again and again. The last months I've had not so much time for paintings, as I would wish, so the larger pieces are still only in my heart and head and I try to keep in contact with the paper, pigments, and brushes.

Years ago I've spent a gorgeous time at Cornwall and since these days I wish I could live there forever. The longing was always a great impulse for painting for me, since my very first steps with watercolor, also years ago. This one was one for my sky- and cloud exercises.
