Jedes Jahr zu dieser Zeit überkommt mich eine unsagbare Sehnsucht nach dem Meer und weil es in diesem Sommer wohl nicht klappen wird, dorthin zu fahren, male ich mich eben ans Meer.

Every year at this time, I am overcome by an indescribable longing for the sea, and because I probably won't be able to go there this summer, I just paint myself by the sea.

Es ist für mich jedes Jahr wieder eine große Freude, wenn sich die Rapsblüte über den gesamten Norden Deutschlands ausbreitet. Natürlich gibt es überall in Deutschland blühende Rapsfelder, aber gerade die Kombination mit der Nord- oder Ostsee im Hintergrund ist für mich Frühling pur!

It's a great joy for me every year when the rapeseed blossoms spread across northern Germany. Of course, there are blooming rapeseed meadows all over Germany, but the mixture with the North or Baltic Sea in the background is pure spring for me!

This is what home looks like to me, especially in September, when the heather blooms in Lüneburg Heath are coming to an end, and on beautiful, sunny days, the land shines once again in this incredible pink.

I’ve never painted this in all these years. But I love how this turned out and hope you like it too.

Hier bei uns in der Lüneburger Heide gibt es viele Seen, oft im Wald versteckt. Ich habe immer die kleinen bunten Wochenendhäuschen geliebt, die an ihnen liegen. Sie wirken, als seien sie nicht von unserer Welt.

There are many lakes here in the Lüneburg Heath, often hidden in the forest. I've always loved the small, colorful weekend cottages beside these lakes. They seem enchanted as if they're from outside our world.

In January 2013, we had such a severe winter with hard frost that the idyllic Heide Lake, where the beautiful town of Müden is located, was frozen over, and young and old could have fun on the ice. I am glad I took my camera with me, so I have a lot of lovely impressions to inspire me.

Small notice to this sketch, I was testing some fixing tapes and with this one I've tried the one from Hahnemuehle. It's particularly for watercolor paper, but as you can see, it doesn't work really good and destroyed the paper... that's always sad

 If you see Hanover's town hall for the first time, you think it's a palace or castle. But it's not, it a built as a town hall after 13 years of construction and opened in 1913. I love all about this magnificent building, especially winter shows it by its fairytale side, even more from the Masch Park side.

 A walk around the Dammasch meadows near the Aller River in Celle is always a good idea. And if the meadows are flooded even more. The view of the old half-timbered Villa, built by Albrecht Thaer in 1793, at the edge of Thaers Garden, is terrific.
