  A walk around the Dammasch meadows near the Aller River in Celle is always a good idea. And if the meadows are flooded even more. The view onto the old half-timbered Villa built by Albrecht Thaer in 1793 a the edge of Thaers Garden is wonderful.

For my work, I decided on the western facade of the castle, which is rarely or not at all shown in paintings. This is completely hidden behind trees in summer and you can hardly see the castle. But in winter, and especially when there is snow, the moated castle character of the facility comes into its own. Celle Castle was built around 980 as a fortified tower with the attributes of a water castle.

 Otto the Strict continued developing the building in 1292. Remnants of this era are the cellar vault and the lower floors of the watch tower. The current Celle Castle has its first documented mentioning as “Castrum Celle” in 1315. ... for more information: Celle Castle

Celle hat viele malerische Ecken und Winkel, besonders hat es mir zur Zeit das Allerwehr angetan. Ich bin zwar noch nicht wirklich zufrieden mit diesem Ergebnis, halte es aber für vorzeigbar und möchte Euch einstimmen auf weitere folgende Motive dieser bezaubernden Fachwerkstadt.
