This painting is done after an old toddler photo taken by my dad on Christmas Eve 1959. It was such an unforgettable memory and my beloved Teddy's first Christmas with me.

That's my last painting in 2020 and Dears, what a year!  It had an impact on all of our lives and I'm very glad that I could paint, write and photography in my free time and so create a space for me to forget the world around me and just enjoy the creative process.

  

Genießt die letzten Tages dieses eigenartigen Jahres, wo immer Ihr es könnt. Ich möchte jedem einzelnen von Euch danken für all die Treue, Aufmerksamkeit und Zuwendung in den vergangenen 12 Jahren hier in meinem Malerei-Blog. Ich kann die Zahl kaum selbst glauben und es ist mir Heimat und Erinnerungsstätte geworden, vor allem aber der Beginn vielen großartiger Freundschaften und Erlebnisse auf Malreisen und in den vielen vergangenen Meisterklassen.

Auf einem Berg aus Zuckerkant, 
unter einem blühenden Machandelbaum, 
blinkt mein Pfefferkuchenhäuschen.
Seine Fensterchen sind aus Goldpapier, 
aus seinem Schornstein raucht Watte.
Im grünen Himmel, über mir, rauscht die Weihnachtstanne.
In meinem See aus Staniol 
spiegeln sich alle ihre Engel, alle ihre Lichter!
Die kleinen Kinder stehn rum 
und staunen mich an.
Ich bin der Zwerg Turlitipu.
Mein dicker Bauch ist aus Traganth, 
meine Beinchen Streichhölzer, 
meine listigen Äugelchen 
Korinthen.

so ein wenig Niedliches zur Adventszeit muss einfach jedes Jahr sein und in diesem Jahr haben es mir die kleinen Christbaum Anhänger aus Holz angetan, aber auch Kerzen und die vorweihnachtliche Atmosphäre, die durch die Dekoration in Haus und Garten gezaubert wird. Mal schauen, was sich noch so ergibt ...
