This is what home looks like to me, especially in September, when the heather blooms in Lüneburg Heath are coming to an end, and on beautiful, sunny days, the land shines once again in this incredible pink.

I’ve never painted this in all these years. But I love how this turned out and hope you like it too.

The iconic rain scene from the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice, where Mr. Darcy first proposes to Elizabeth Bennet, was filmed at the Temple of Apollo within Stourhead Gardens in Wiltshire, England. The National Trust property features this classical temple, which overlooks a beautiful lake and serves as a memorable backdrop for the dramatic moment. Mr. Darcy proposes to Elizabeth Bennet, revealing his love and his internal conflict between societal expectations and his feelings for her. The storm symbolizes the tumultuous emotions of the characters and the disruptive, passionate nature of their burgeoning, yet contentious, relationship. The scene's dramatic setting, with heavy rain and sound design, amplifies the raw intensity of their interaction, forcing them to confront their pride and prejudice in a charged environment.

This time I've chosen a not-so-famous scene from Pride and Prejudice 2005, more rural and summery. Nevertheless, my personal party celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday continues.

The iconic cliffs featured in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice are located at Stanage Edge in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England. This impressive gritstone edge is where Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennet stands, gazing out at the landscape and reflecting on her feelings for Mr. Darcy in one of the film’s most memorable scenes.

My journey with Jane Austen's scenarios goes on during this year of celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday. In quite possibly the most romantic scene of all time, Mr Darcy (Matthew Mcfadyen) confesses his love to Elizabeth Bennett (Kiera Knightley) while the sun rise up on a misty morning in the film "Pride and Prejudice".

Okay, it’s summer again and so I paint something really different. This one is created on an old wooden chest lid, and the area I painted for is our garden pool. Thanks to Jeremy Bishop auf Unsplash for the inspirational photo.

Cooking during holidays with local food is a great delight for me. And grilled shrimps are always a good idea, aren’t they?
So a quick sketch while they bath in olive oil, garlic and lemon slices, with a hint of chili. 🌶️

“Sketching is like dancing. It’s a process as much as a product. You can turn your head off and simply dissolve into the present moment. Doing a giant, super thought-out painting is the opposite of that.”

- Molly Crabapple
