One of my very first memories of my grandfather was his gorgeous small vineyard. He was so happy to work with the grapes.
My „Secret Garden“ sketchbook project is coming to an end with this bold and strong color explosion inspired by the one and only @jeanhaines

A quick morning sketch. It's always very relaxing to do something inside the sketchbook.

The Red Star Reinette (known in German as the Rote Sternrenette and in French as Reinette Rouge Étoilée) is a traditional, heritage apple variety over 200 years old, prized for its deep red skin and distinctive star-shaped lenticels. I love the taste and color of this apple so much 🍎, and I am very happy to have one in my garden.

A sketchbook is a place for memories, inspiration, experimentation, and simply having fun. With this image, I was particularly focused on capturing the deep red, velvety surface that radiates the irresistible appeal of ripe peaches.

Again a great tutorial by Tom Shepherd on SAA. Love the powerful colors and the loose and strong brushwork of Tom so much that I must try my own version of it.

Finding the first chestnut of the year is always a very exciting moment and I can't resist putting it into my pocket. Touching and feeling it is something very special, nearly magical, a real candy.

with this small one, I've had a new experience too, you can clean an aquabord maybe twice, but never three times, and put a completely new painting on it.

My plan was to paint a series with some autumnal still lives in a small format and I've started with Ampersand's gessobord. Hmm, it's a miracle with this one, because I've no idea if I've put a watercolor ground on it or not. And it looks like not, but the watercolors stayed from the first wash perfectly on it. Okay, you must be very careful with corrections, otherwise it's three steps forward and two backwards, but even salt on the wet pigments works great. So I took a gessobord for No. 2 too, but it doesn't work. The colors beaded off and absolutely didn't want to stick to the gessobord. I had to put some watercolor ground on it. I'll show you the result in my next post.

Sweet plums are one of my favorite autumn fruits and I love to paint them. So I have done one Ampersand Aquabord and I love this surface for still lifes.
