Since we live near the woods and have a few sun-warmed walls in our garden, we sometimes get visits from lizards. I haven't painted a lizard yet, but I'm sure there will be more in the future.

It was a short Iceland trip years ago, but it was during wintertime and full of life-long memories. I was so lucky that our golden-circle bus tour stopped near a small church so that I could take some photos of the iconic Icelandic horses grazing in the distance.

One of the many memories of my beloved grandparents is the story of when my grandpa brought a bullfinch in a birdcage into grandma's kitchen. I've never seen this beautiful bird so close, but at the same time, I begged Grandpa to set this wonderful wild animal free again. And so we did it together in our garden.

I've never painted a bat, but aren't they cute animals? For years, we've had one, or maybe two, in our garden, and we feel so lucky to admire their gorgeous hunting rounds around our garden lamp.

....und es geht weiter mit meiner Nordseetier Serie! Schweinswale haben es nicht leicht in unseren beiden Norddeutschen Meeren und ihre Bestände sind durch den Menschen und Umwelteinflüsse stark bedroht. Es sind KEINE Delphine, sondern kleine Wale. Sie sind scheu und kaum erforscht.
