Finding the first chestnut of the year is always a very exciting moment and I can't resist putting it into my pocket. Touching and feeling it is something very special, nearly magical, a real candy.

with this small one, I've had a new experience too, you can clean an aquabord maybe twice, but never three times, and put a completely new painting on it.

Autumn is a very exciting time for my Coralie; she's sitting the whole day at the windows and looking at the leaves dancing through the air. The Challenge at Jean Haines Online Art School was to paint a cat profile and here it is.

My plan was to paint a series with some autumnal still lives in a small format and I've started with Ampersand's gessobord. Hmm, it's a miracle with this one, because I've no idea if I've put a watercolor ground on it or not. And it looks like not, but the watercolors stayed from the first wash perfectly on it. Okay, you must be very careful with corrections, otherwise it's three steps forward and two backwards, but even salt on the wet pigments works great. So I took a gessobord for No. 2 too, but it doesn't work. The colors beaded off and absolutely didn't want to stick to the gessobord. I had to put some watercolor ground on it. I'll show you the result in my next post.

French Rivera, Ile de Porquerolles The picturesque island is one of the four islands of Iles d'Hyeres and most likely, France’s best-kept secret - ok maybe it’s not so secret. But Porquerolles has remained throughout this time, unspoiled. I've visited this heaven on earth several times and can't wait to see it again. This painted view shows the gorgeous look on the coastline you have from many spots on it.
