The whole world is celebrating Jane Austen's 250th Birthday, and so I do. I decided to paint a series about her wonderful stories, which I have enjoyed in several film versions. This second painting, a scene with Marianne Dashwood sitting at the seaside from the film "Sense and Sensibility" is inspired by Blanca Álvarez Sanchez lovely tutorial on Patreon.
Painting wet-in-wet is very challenging for me at any time, and I struggle with this technique repeatedly.

Jahresrückblick - Review 2018

2018 war ein wundervolles und sehr kreatives Jahr, angefangen mit einer Challenge mit Miniaturen in einer Facebook Gruppe, initiiert und gegründet von Maggie Latham. Ich habe die Challenge nicht beendet, habe aber das Ziel von 100 Aquarellen in einem Jahr mit meinen Gesamtwerken erreicht. Außerdem habe ich es endlich geschafft meine ersten Beiträge zu der grandiosen Initiative von Vandy Massey - RUNNING WITH BRUSHES einzusenden und Juhu!! ein Bild ist bereits verkauft worden. Ich bin Mitglied in der SAA (Society for all Artists) geworden und habe mich an der Challenge PAINT A POPPY beteiligt.
Das Sahnehäubchen des Jahres war ganz ohne jede Frage der Aquarelllehrgang mit JOSEPH ZBUKVIC in Girona. So viele Jahre hatte ich davon geträumt und es war unbeschreiblich gut, lehrreich, inspirierend und ach ... mir gehen da glatt die Superlative aus. Und Girona unter der wundervollen Organisation von Angela Barbi - EPC ART COURSES zu erleben, würde ich am liebsten wirklich jedes Jahr machen.
2018 was really a wonderful and very creative year, started with a challenge with miniatures at the FB group founded by Maggie Latham. I've not finished this challenge - goal was 100 miniatures watercolors in one year, but I've reached the number 100 as well with all my works. I've also send some first contributions to the wonderful RUNNING WITH BRUSHES project byVandy Massey. Became member of SAA, taking part in their PAINT A POPPY CHALLENGE.
But the cherry on the cake was the watercolor workshop with one of the best living watercolor artist - JOSEPH ZBUKVIC at Girona. A lifelong dream came true!
