A garden without water isn't a garden. I love to have several spots with water inside my garden. Some are for birds, hedgehogs, and other critters to bathe and drink. Some are simply to enjoy the murmur of falling water with fountains. And in recent years, we've had many frogs visiting these locations.

Observing, photographing, and painting frogs is a lifelong pleasure for me. Maybe their part in the fairytales during my childhood, maybe their feature of transformation. I don't know it exactly. But I think they like me too, because we've had some in our garden for years.

....und es geht weiter mit meiner Nordseetier Serie! Schweinswale haben es nicht leicht in unseren beiden Norddeutschen Meeren und ihre Bestände sind durch den Menschen und Umwelteinflüsse stark bedroht. Es sind KEINE Delphine, sondern kleine Wale. Sie sind scheu und kaum erforscht.

Es ist ein großformatiges Blatt geworden, dass sich in der Herstellung stark von der vorhergegangenen Skizze unterscheidet. Fische zu malen habe ich von jeher geliebt, sie gehören für mich zu den allerersten Erinnerungen in meiner Aquarellistenlaufbahn und haben mir immer große Freude bereitet.
