The second painting for my small series (here you can see No.1 of the series), inspired by my own photographs taken at the wonderful and very inspiring HafenCity Hamburg. Reflections, maritime symbols, and signs everywhere, modern and very old buildings side by side. Artist's heaven pure! And there’s another story in Hamburg the “fusion” between the love of my life and I started exactly there. So it’s logical that we both are side by side in this painting too.

Painting on artist panel is a tricky thing. But I love the surprising results and the challenging surface.

is my submission for Ali Cavanaugh's Patreon challenge #41 other side of you - Art Class of Ali Cavanaugh. Done on painting board primed with Qor Watercolor ground. The result is a very smooth surface, not so easy to handle but you can remove nearly any pigments from it. These challenges are amazing and help me coming out of my comfort zone and stretching my skills. I'm so very happy to be a part of this wonderful group.
I've lost after 17 wonderful years my beloved Xenia last Friday and I'm really heartbroken. Our furry friends are part of our family and it's not easy to let them go. But painting this double portrait helps
