"Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.”

― L.M. Montgomery

Especially in these special times of Covid-19 and no sure travel insight, I am very happy that we made such wonderful trips years ago. We have been to Thailand three times and the longing will probably remain forever to return there again.

Inspired and animated by the LANDSCAPE ESCAPE PAINTING for the MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK at the online class of JEAN HAINES I decide to paint this dandelion field as my first contribution. Since my early childhood days, I'm fascinated by spring meadows full of blooming dandelions. Heartwarming images, with father's hand creating crowns of dandelions for my sister and me come back to my mind. For the dandelion heads, I've lifted the pigments and ad some gouache on the wet paper, put salt in the middle and drop some light grey on it.

The garden is filled with wonderful blooming flowers and sitting relaxed and painting these beauties all around me is a perfect way to celebrate a sunny Sunday in May.

Sure you recognize this great man, enjoying doing what he like most, it's the painter legend John Singer Sargent, 1856 - 1925.
I love all about this old black and white photography and for years I had the wish to paint it. Here's my first attempt, sure more will follow.

The title of this just finished dog portrait is "Always an eye on the kids!" and it shows you Phoebe, a Golden Retriever with a very sweet soul, the perfect nanny for the two little girls of our friends, 2 and 6 years old. It's absolutely heartwarming and touching to watch how much love these three each other.  Today we started at Jean Haines  Online Art School with painting dogs and I'm looking forward to the next days, happy that I have just now a holiday week and more time to paint.

I'm missing the sea so much, usually this time of the year we spend some days at the seaside. That's not possible this year so that I decided to paint some sea pieces with experimenting on new techniques.

Inspired by Jean Haines Online Classes I made my first cat painting for more than one year and I have missed painting cats, very much. Jean's special technique is so very relaxing, so very Zen-like, I love it!
