Do you know John Singer Sargent RA’s oil painting “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose”, 1885 - 1886. Surely you do, it’s one of this Royal Academician’s most famous works. And this will be my version of it. I love the motive and learned a lot while working on it.

Autumn is always my favorite season of the year with all its colors, amazing sundowns, poetic landscapes and so it's no wonder that I paint every year some autumn-inspired watercolors. This year is much more exciting because of the awesome inspiration from Jean Haines's Online Art School www.watercolorinspiration. The September theme is Going for Gold: Autumn Berries and my studio looks a little bit like a fairyland with all the gold powder around...

This was a very busy weekend. In main the time with gardening and framing and hanging most of my paintings at home (29!!) in new white frames. It looks great and so I'm well prepared for an exhibition. Maybe at the end of 2018 or 2019 ...
This rose watercolor is my kind of "sundowner" and I love these little steps on it, so relaxing and I enjoy it very much. I think there is not really much to do on this. Let's wait and see, what the painting will say to me tomorrow. ...
