Dieses Portrait ist eine Illustration für mein geplantes Kindergedichte-Buch und damit es auch noch ein paar Überraschungen gibt, handelt es sich in diesem Fall um ein noch unveröffentlichtes Gedicht. Also bleibt gespannt und am besten kauft das Buch, so bald es erscheint. Ich werde Euch natürlich alle informieren, sei es hier im Blog oder über die Social Medias (Instagram, X oder Facebook). Für dieses Portrait habe ich das neue Farb-Set von Ali Cavanaugh genutzt, das einfach wunderbar für Haut- und Haartöne ist und ich liebe die kleine Palette, die dabei ist. Ich habe so viel in ihrer Patreon Group gelernt, wofür ich sehr dankbar bin.

The bright shining faces of sunflowers are the perfect sign for the full summer season. For years I'd the idea to paint again a watercolor on canvas and this time I took a normal canvas and start to paint without any preparation of the canvas. And it had worked!! The drying periods were really long, but then I was able to paint in layers. After the complete drying of the painting, it got a fixative for watercolours to protect it.

All I need for my daily portion of luck is a white sheet of paper, juicy colors, some nice brushes and a garden full of inspiration.

Holiday Fun with a Mini Workshop

Mini Watercolor Workshop with my niece Lara-Marie. She wished to learn painting with watercolors and so she'd her first contact with this gorgeous medium. Painting with kids is always wonderful and she was very happy and relaxed.

Weren't we diligent? We've started with some colorful warm up exercises after Jean Haines and then we took a life model - a fresh watermelons for a painting with a bit more definition, but without any drawing.

The 4 paintings on the left side are Lara-Maries results and aren't they fantastic for her first time painting with watercolor!!

This was a very busy weekend. In main the time with gardening and framing and hanging most of my paintings at home (29!!) in new white frames. It looks great and so I'm well prepared for an exhibition. Maybe at the end of 2018 or 2019 ...

This rose watercolor is my kind of "sundowner" and I love these little steps on it, so relaxing and I enjoy it very much. I think there is not really much to do on this. Let's wait and see, what the painting will say to me tomorrow. ...

One more sketch for a larger version with rescued ink from damaged mushroom caps lying on the grass at our garden. If I'd discovered the lovely granulation I've decided to create a little owl, because the natural ink works so beautiful for the fluffy feathers of Barn Owls.
