This is what home looks like to me, especially in September, when the heather blooms in Lüneburg Heath are coming to an end, and on beautiful, sunny days, the land shines once again in this incredible pink.
I’ve never painted this in all these years. But I love how this turned out and hope you like it too.

This time I've chosen a not-so-famous scene from Pride and Prejudice 2005, more rural and summery. Nevertheless, my personal party celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday continues.

The iconic cliffs featured in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice are located at Stanage Edge in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England. This impressive gritstone edge is where Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Bennet stands, gazing out at the landscape and reflecting on her feelings for Mr. Darcy in one of the film’s most memorable scenes.

Jane Austen's Scenarios
"You have bewitched me...
My journey with Jane Austen's scenarios goes on during this year of celebrating Jane Austen's 250th birthday. In quite possibly the most romantic scene of all time, Mr Darcy (Matthew Mcfadyen) confesses his love to Elizabeth Bennett (Kiera Knightley) while the sun rise up on a misty morning in the film "Pride and Prejudice".

The whole world is celebrating Jane Austen's 250th Birthday, and so I do. I decided to paint a series about her wonderful stories, which I have enjoyed in several film versions. The third painting, a scene with Elinor Dashwood and Edward Ferrars from the film „Sense and Sensibility“

This second painting, a scene with Marianne Dashwood sitting at the seaside from the film "Sense and Sensibility" is inspired by Blanca Álvarez Sanchez lovely tutorial on Patreon.
Painting wet-in-wet is very challenging for me at any time, and I struggle with this technique repeatedly.

if longing overcomes
I wasn't satisfied with the original painting on the encaustic board, so I tried washing off the pigment. Unfortunately, that only worked very poorly. I then primed the board again with Qor Aquarelle Ground. That worked even worse, and it resulted in a lot of vertical lines. However, as I thought about this motif, I realized the lines would fit the subject well.

_______________
There are many lakes here in the Lüneburg Heath, often hidden in the forest. I've always loved the small, colorful weekend cottages beside these lakes. They seem enchanted as if they're from outside our world.

Trying out new colors is always a special pleasure. In this case, it was indescribably beautiful, as the colors are surprising in their granulation and color scheme.

It was a short Iceland trip years ago, but it was during wintertime and full of life-long memories. I was so lucky that our golden-circle bus tour stopped near a small church so that I could take some photos of the iconic Icelandic horses grazing in the distance.
