Many thanks, Sarah McIntyre, on X Virtual Studio - @StudioTeaBreak, for her inspiring challenge. This is my version of L. S. Lowry's self-portrait, oil on board, in 1925.

Again a portrait painting on Yasutomo mineral paper, I like this tricky surface very much, which pushes me to paint more loose and spontaneous. The portrait is inspired by a photo reference on ©MuseumbySKTCHY.

Everyone has oceans to fly if they have the heart to do it.
Is it reckless? Maybe. But what does dreams know of boundaries?”

SKTCHY ARTSCHOOL watercolor #30faces30days. Still jumping through the challenge. Another painting of Gina’s precious daughter for Day 23, this time painting along with @ginahaweswatercolors herself and a lot of inspiration from @jennybarnes. So much learned during this portrait challenge, it's so great to see other artists working.

Es treibt der Wind im Winterwalde
Die Flockenheerde wie ein Hirt,
Und manche Tanne ahnt, wie balde
Sie fromm und lichterheilig wird;
Und lauscht hinaus.
Den weissen Wegen
Streckt sie die Zweige hin – bereit,
Und wehrt dem Wind und wächst entgegen
Der einen Nacht der Herrlichkeit.
Rainer Maria Rilke, Schmargendorf, im Dezember 1897.

The first painting in 2021 is a winter fun scene filled with a lot of memories of the lovely winters in my childhood. From morning to evening we're on our sleighs and nothing could stop our fun, no cold, no totally wet clothes, only the early darkness set an end to our happy days.

This is my result of painting along with Lisa Wang @lisawang.art - Instagram - at Coffee with Angela @epc_art_courses - Instagram. It was such a great demo and a wonderful experience, and a very interesting interview, thanks a lot to you both.
