Several times we've visited this gorgeous place. An unearthly beautiful valley with a wild and emerald green river and this gorgeous old double bridge built in the 17th century. Of course, I took an infinite number of photographs and that is very helpful now to get a feel for the right atmosphere. I'm planning a full imperial piece with a bathing scene from it and to get into the mood again I've done some washes to find the right colors.

***A Haubarg, rarely also Hauberg, is the typical farmhouse of the Eiderstedt peninsula on the northwest coast of Germany and is a type of Gulf house. It emerged in the late 16th century when West Frisian immigrants brought with them the Gulf type of farm building and it was to continue to be used until the late 19th century as a farmhouse. In the Netherlands these houses are called stolpboerderij.

The word "Haubarg" means a place for piling or stacking hay (see hooiberg). As a byre-dwelling, man and animal lived for centuries in haubargs under one roof, albeit in separate rooms. www.wikipedia

Ich habe ein neues Papier ( Cornwall - rauh, von Hahnemühle 450g) ausprobiert und hatte viel Freude beim Malen, denn das Papier macht eigentlich ein wenig, was es will, trocknet sehr langsam und die Farben haben sehr viel Zeit zu verlaufen. Ob es mein Lieblingspapier wird, kann ich noch nicht sagen, aber es hat auf jeden Fall einen hohen Spassfaktor.
