I am a member of the FB group Watermedia with Maggie Letham
And they have created a challenge, everyone paints the same photo, and we all post our watercolor under the inspiring photo.  This month we painted a really big cloud photographed by Deborah Secor. As you know I love this kind of challenge and can't resist painting my version too.

And one more paper test with CANSON HÉRITAGE this time the cold pressed version and I must say, I'm thrilled. This is so far the best for me. Easily to make soft washes and create hard edges. Perfect, absolutely perfect for me.

I'm still at my paper testing phase and this is a really fine paper, satin grained, lovely for smooth washes, with a lovely texture for the background. The other properties are exactly like the CANSON HÉRITAGE ROUGH.  Both papers worth more than one try.

I'm testing new papers at the moment, it's always a great experience and time for doing little pieces without any pressure on the shoulders to create masterpieces. Yes, it's definitely fun doing this. Canson Héritage is a strong and absorbent 100% cotton paper designed for use with watercolour paints. It is available in two weights, a standard 300gsm and a heavyweight 640gsm. Both weights of Canson Héritage are also suitable for use with coloured or watercolour pencils.

What really sets this robust watercolour paper apart is the sizing, which allows artists to lift paint and to scrub at the paper without deterioration to the surface. It is possible to layer paints, returning to the same image and re-wetting the surface. The ability to make corrections while the paint is wet or after it has dried makes Héritage a very forgiving paper to paint on. This sizing also gives great image clarity, as it does not allow marks to bleed. Sharp edges are retained after the paint has dried.

Below you can see the first stopped version, but after some days looking at it, I've missed depth and so I've added some hints of Hydrangeas in the background. I've lost now a little bit the light, but for me I've won more complexity. Sometimes one must risk something. What's your opinion on this?
