While missing the sea in the Corona year, I love this theme at Jean Haines Online Art School www.watercolorinspiration very much. I can walk at the beach in my imagination looking for starfishes, feathers, seashells, and beautiful stones.

Night falling on the city
Quite something to behold
Don’t it just look so pretty
This disappearing world
— David Gray
This is a cloud exercise inspired by a Thoms W. Schaller's demonstration, shown by him in the Watercolor Workshop last year in October at Chicago. The thing with clouds is very easy: practice - practice - practice!!!

This watercolor is done on a creative background wash, something I really like to do. Do you remember my animal calendar project - month animal? It's completely created in this way. In Jean Haines's wonderful and inspiring Online Art School www.watercolorinspiration.com, it was a task for the month of August to paint roosters on a background wash. Et voilà - here is my contribution.

I love to paint roosters since my very first contact with Jean Haines's incredible books and DVD years ago. And I miss painting them, so I'm extremely excited to get in the mood again with this first study for ages. This rooster is done without any primary drawing. Thanks to the wonderful and inspiring Art School of Jean Haines www.watercolorinspiration.com

Finally, I have free time enough to start with larger paintings again and so I have chosen a wonderful Fuerteventura memory.

That's so far my last watercolor painted on wood. I've enjoyed this little summer project very much and the results look very charming on the brick wall around our terrace. Over the years we've collected a lot of maritime founds, which are decorated there and so the whole ensemble looks a little bit like a seaside restaurant.

This is so the last of my miniature paintings so far! Finally,
I have free time enough for some larger peace and I can’t wait to start. So excited to create my own painting holidays.

One more watercolor painted on wood. I love the maritime feeling while doing this, the near to the ocean, which I missed so much during this COVID year.
