with the name Frectibaldur. One lovely summer evening he decided to discover the world outside his pond. "I will have to hit the road before nightfall, otherwise the great old owl will have an eye on me", he said and so he leaves the pond and jumped into the lovely warm summer evening...

Yes, it's a kind of bubble mania and I can't stop thinking about new motives with bubbles still inspired by www.watercolourinspiration.com
Online Art School of Jean Haines.  Jean said about it: " My bubble tutorial seems to have become addictive! It's contagious!" And I must answer from the bottom of my heart:" YES!! And I love it!"

Once again, I was inspired by the June challenge MAGICAL DRAGONFLY AND BUBBLES at JEAN HAINES online art class. The peonies at my garden are this year like wonderful great pompons in white, rose, and apricot. Sadly their season is over, but the last ones I have cut for a bouquet and paint them. During building up the composition the idea of some bubbles and dragonflies appears and I've finished it yesterday as a Midsummer Night's Dream.

June is not only the month of roses, but it's also the month of tasty strawberry too. For years I try to paint strawberries and every year I'm not really satisfied and this year it's just the same. The goal was to make it lose and fresh, but I failed again. So I must pick more strawberries and try it again,  and again and again ...

How exciting!! We are on a real safari with Jean Haines, unbelievable many elephants around us and we have a lot of fun. All these magical colors of Africa, the unique light, and the beauty of these outstanding and mysterious giant animals fascinate me. I love this Art School of Jean Haines very much.

The plan was coming back into the mood for some ink paintings. But after a long time not practicing this technique, the start really complicated and frustrating. This is my first presentable result. Planned was a white cat, but the painting had other plans with me and so it becomes a sweet calico cat. In Germany, we call this special tricolor female cats "Glückskatze", not to be confused with the Chinese porcelain cats.

“Italy, and the spring and first love all together should suffice to make the gloomiest person happy.”

One more loose painted landscape with wanderlust in my heart. Such lovely memories visiting Tuscany in May, for me the most magnificent season ever to enjoy this wonderful region. Fresh green, every street lined with thousands for poppy flowers, clear blue sky, warm ochre sand ...

As long as I paint with watercolors I love to paint fishes. With this little fellow, I have a special story: years ago I had an aquarium and my first fishes were oranda, a special form of goldfishes. It's very complicated to hold them and I have had a lot of ups and downs until I gave it up.

MAGICAL DRAGONFLY AND BUBBLES is the June challenge at JEAN HAINES online class. This time my own choice was the beautiful white irises in my garden and an imaginary pond behind them.

This sweet fellow is very special to me but much more for the wonderful person who shares the life with him. Who’s dog this is??? Maybe the title would help a bit... Yes, this is Otis, the charming boy and all-day company of the famous Artist Thomas Schaller, which I have had met at Chicago.

Because we have a lot of rivers in the region around us and several birdbaths in our garden, dragonflies are often seen amongst us. Some are very tiny and royal blue, some really as big as my hand. This first attempt to the motive is a result of my Art Class at Jean Haines Art School online. I have struggled with the dark tones and this is really a little bit too dark, but nevertheless I love it and will do more with this color scheme.
