KINGFISHER - THE BEGINNING OF A  JOURNEY

A Kingfisher portrait was one of the very first watercolor paintings I've done, years ago. And now at the beginning of my second part of this adventure I'm back at this flying jewel and falling in love again with this elegant hunter and its vibrant colors. 

This painting is done without any drawing, starting with the eye and build up the bird from this point.

 Surprising result when I started with the dark background ... isn't it a fantastic light!! 

I love these exercise so much and can't wait for the large version.
